It is essential that disciples of Jesus Christ be adequately trained and knowledgeable about what it means to believe and live as a Christian.

Fannin UMC is dedicated to teaching children, youth and adults the principles of the faith and how they should be lived out in the world based upon the Word of God. We accomplish these goals through Sunday School for all ages, Sunday morning worship, and Bible Study on Sunday evenings and Wednesday nights.

Youth

Smaller churches are all about relationships. Our youth group is a natural place for students to make lasting friendships and dig deeper into the mysteries of God and what he wants to do in their lives. The small group setting is perfect for building lasting friendships through games and discussions. It is also easy to arrange fun weekend trips or ministry opportunities.

In recent years we have taken trips to places like Orlando, Chicago, Chattanooga and Cincinnati, allowing our youth to see new parts of the country and make some invaluable memories. If your child is in middle school or high school, we would love for him or her to join us!

Children

Jesus said, “Let the little children come unto me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these” (Matthew 19:14). For many of us, the church is the center point of some of our fondest childhood memories. Our mission at Fannin United Methodist Church is to help children discover, develop, and use their gifts for the glory of God while focusing on doing missions for others.

We offer Sunday school for elementary aged students every Sunday morning at 9:00 and have a mid-week program on Wednesday nights at 6:00 during the school year. There is a nursery available for children under the age of five. During the summer months, we have Vacation Bible School and various activities for the children. The children also participate in the church service by serving as acolytes and through other special programs. The children’s ministry helps the children to develop a strong foundation in God and gives them a firm support as they grow both physically and spiritually. Come join us!

United Methodist Men

The United Methodist Men of FUMC are a mission-minded group of men who support their mission activities via three main fundraisers each year:  a Spring barbecue, a Fall barbecue and a Wild Game Dinner and Auction in the Spring.

Funds from these events are used to support a mission church in the Philippines, the annual FUMC Youth Summer Educational Mission trip, Vacation Bible School, Kairos ministries, the church cemetery and other church mission projects. The Men’s Club meets for breakfast on the fifth Sunday of any five-Sunday month. The meetings are open to all members of the church and ladies are also specifically invited as there are so many of them who volunteer to help for our events. There are no dues, initiation or secret handshakes. The membership is composed solely of those who wish to volunteer and help support FUMC. Come volunteer with us.
